Trailways Greenery Makes Life a Walk in the Park
September 19, 2019
Leisurely strolls, invigorating hikes and morning trips to the dog park — here’s our rundown of the noteworthy green spaces surrounding Trailways Stouffville and beyond.
Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area
Hiking trails, picnic sites, treetop treks — oh yeah, and a driving range and BMX track. Did we mention the springtime maple syrup festival? This stunning park has it all.
Rouge National Urban Park
Home to incredible biodiversity, unspoiled beaches and fantastic hiking, once you’re on the trails or in the lake, there’s nothing “urban” about this park – except it’s location.
Whitchurch-Stouffville Reservoir
The Stouffville Town Trail that rings the beautiful 50-acre reservoir begins on Main Street, follows Stouffville Creek, and winds its way through woods and wetlands. Walk, bike, or crosscountry ski the trail.
Byer’s Pond Park
Perfect for nearby strolls around the water, the park also has a splash pad, basketball courts and playground just north of the pond with tons of open green space.
Memorial Park
At the centre of Stouffville and right next to the Leisure Centre (Stouffville’s main recreation facility complete with a gymnasium, indoor pool and fitness centre) this space is a hub for special community events and everyday play dates.
Rougeview Dog Park
Right by a beautiful pond, there are two permanent fenced-in areas (one designated specifically for small dogs) where your four-legged family members can run free.
Sunnyridge Park
With a community garden, fitness trail, tennis and basketball courts, a soccer field, and a great playground and splash pad, this large neighbourhood park has something for everyone.
